Mason Rose is a trans photographer living in Portland, OREGON.

Working across many varieties of portraits and conceptual work, his photography highlights the strength within the trans experience, the connection to ourselves and the power within US ALL.

His work has been featured in Vogue Germany, The Guardian, and Out Magazine, highlighting collaborations with queer luminaries such as Alok Vaid-Menon, boulet brothers dragula winners niohuru x and dahli, louisiana purchase, and emma ruth rundle.

Since discovering photography as a teenage metal musician, Mason has found inspiration from

James Bidgood, Cindy Sherman, Pierre et Gilles, and other photographers who embrace camp

and vulgarity. He loves to incorporate textures - latex, leather, silk, skin - against backdrops of

flower fields at golden hour, foggy mountains, and early 20th century architecture.

Through Mason’s signature ethereal and haunting aesthetic, he seeks to nurture poise and

esteem in place of the systemic shame routinely thrust upon queers, sex workers, trans people,

and the kink community. His work is fortified by a singular ability to connect with his subjects on

complex and vulnerable levels, creating dynamic images; soft and rough, vulnerable and strong,

finding bliss within deep aching.

When a shoot isn’t on the books, Mason is often found making magical syrups from his rose

garden, ruminating to Norwegian black metal, and finding meaning in being Daddy.

I had been a long time fan of Mason's work and was so excited for the opportunity to do a shoot together! I wanted a Folsom Pride theme shoot that captured the contrast between kink, leather, and soft floral elements. Mason suggested a STUNNING rose garden that matched my vision perfectly!

Receiving the photos brought me so much euphoria, especially because it was my first big photoshoot after having top surgery earlier that year. The photos were absolutely dreamy, capturing a nonbinary leather daddy in a rose garden. It was exactly what I hoped for and more. 10/10 recommend booking a shoot with Mason Rose!

    MYKAH & NOAH

Mason captured an energy between my spouse and I that I have never been able to articulate with words. How transformative of an experience it is to be truly seen by such an amazing human.

Having the feelings you cannot articulate with words documented and translated into enchanting images that you can forever reflect on, that is a profoundly spiritually curative experience. These pictures brought me peace and healing in intensely impassioned ways. If you've considered getting yourself, or someone you love, a photoshoot from Mason, do it. You won't be sorry. Mason makes your magical memories everlasting.

I had never worked with a professional photographer before and I was extremely nervous! Those nerves melted away as I was immersed into such a fun and supportive shoot with you!

I remember getting photos back and going “THIS is how people see me, THIS is who I am,” you perfectly captured the rawness of vulnerability and strength.

Thank you for everything you do, Mason :)
